Tan Sri Ahmad Badri Mohd Zahir, 62, a Malaysian, is the Non-Independent Non-Executive Director of Sime Darby Berhad. He was appointed to the Board on 1 September 2020.
Tan Sri Ahmad Badri was appointed as the Chairman of Employees Provident Fund effective 1 May 2020. Prior to the appointment, he was the Secretary General of Treasury in the Ministry of Finance, a post he had held since 12 September 2018. He has sat on the EPF Investment Panel since 2014 and is vastly experienced in the field of strategic investment, loan management, financial market, and actuarial science.
He started his career as a Senior Valuation Executive at C.H. Williams, Talhar & Wong Sdn. Bhd. before being appointed as Assistant Secretary in the Finance Division of the Ministry of Finance in 1989, where he served for nearly 30 years.
Tan Sri Ahmad Badri is currently the Chairman of RHB Bank Berhad. He was previously a Director of Bank Negara Malaysia, the Retirement Fund Incorporated (KWAP), Permodalan Nasional Berhad and Tenaga Nasional Berhad, amongst others.
Tan Sri Ahmad Badri holds a Degree in Land and Property Management, Universiti Teknologi MARA and Master in Business Administration, University of Hull, United Kingdom.
