
Group Chief Safety & Sustainability Officer
Mr Glenn Sheahan, 54, an Australian, is the Group Chief Safety and Sustainability Officer for Sime Darby Berhad. He was appointed on 1 October 2019.
Mr Sheahan joined Hastings Deering, a Sime Darby Industrial company, as General Manager-Safety and Sustainability in February 2013, before being appointed as the Divisional General Manager of Safety and Sustainability for Sime Darby Industrial in October 2017.
Mr Sheahan has more than 28 years of experience which include diverse and senior Health, Safety, Audit and Risk Management roles within listed 500 and ASX100 companies for EPCM Contractors in engineering, procurement, construction, mining, and oil & gas. Working across international markets in high-value industries in Australasia, Qatar, Indonesia, Thailand and Dubai.
His experience with diversity, direction and leadership aided his progression to Group Head, Health, Safety and Sustainability where he oversees Risk and Quality Assurance, Audit, Compliance, Business Resilience, and ESG Reporting across Sime Darby’s Motors, Industrial and Logistics divisions. Mr Sheahan promotes Sime Darby’s Sustainability Blueprint and commitment to “No Harm” by driving employee capacity-building efforts and encouraging an intuitives safety culture that adds sustainable value across all aspects of operations.
Mr Sheahan is a qualified nurse and an emergency services officer. He holds a post graduate degree in Operational Health and Safety from the University of Southern Queensland.
